Book Direct and Save Admin Fees
Searching for a vacation these days invariably leads to AirBnB, VRBO, Booking.com or Trip Advisor. That’s because all these companies spend vast amounts of money paying Google to be on the first page of search results.
In turn that means that you, as the vacationer, are paying over the odds to book your holiday via one of these platforms. It may be a direct cost, an administration fee charged over and above the rental rate, or it maybe that the owner of the rental has had to increase the rent to cover the charges levied by the platform.
These additional fees generally amount to between 15% and 20% above the cost of your vacation rental.
So what do you get for this additional cost? Some might suggest more security but that is not always the case. These websites, with thousands of properties have no way of checking the ownership and ensuring the advertiser is genuine and from many press reports have little sympathy when things go wrong.
So why book through Vacation Rentals D.R.?
Here are a few reasons:-
We only accept adverts from owners or agents we know and trust. Our vacation rentals are only on the North Coast of the Dominican Republic and for the most part are owned by Ex-Pats who know what vacationers are looking for in a holiday rental.
You get direct contact with the owner straight away. So you can ask questions and cover any points related to your personal tastes and requirements. The rental companies mentioned above don’t want you to have that access, or at least, not until you have booked and paid.
If you book with AirBnB etc. you will be expected to pay the full cost at the time of booking, maybe months before your holiday dates. The owner is not paid until the day after you arrive. Booking direct will normally require only a deposit with the balance payable shortly before your holiday or, in some cases, not until after you arrive.
Let’s be honest, sometimes things go wrong at the last minute. A flight delay or cancellation, unexpected emergencies or unforseen events can happen. Although we always recommend holiday insurance as a protection having contact with an owner can alleviate a last minute problem.
We don’t expect you to take our word for it but recommend shopping around for the best deal you can get. See what is on offer from the major rental companies and then check our prices or ask if we have the same or similar properties available and speak direct to the owner.
We want you to have the best experience whilst on holiday in the Dominican Republic and at the most competetive price. So don’t be afraid to check our owners prices before you book!
